Ear correction surgery for adult and children

If you are unhappy with the size or shape of your ears, it is possible to enhance the appearance.

Whether you feel your ears are too large, protrude too far or have a different appearance; these can usually be corrected.

Otoplasty is a common Plastic surgery procedure offered to both adults and children. In some cases, you might be eligible for a Medicare item number.

What to expect from your otoplasty surgery

During surgery, an incision is made on the back of the ears. The scars are small and hidden. The cartilage is reshaped with sutures or incisions and the defect corrected.

What can I expect after surgery

After otoplasty procedure, dressing will be fitted around your head to protect the ears. You will need to keep this on until seen for the first postoperative review in one week.

Patients are advised to wear a headband for 6 weeks at night to protect the ears. They can return to full activities including contact sport after 6- 8 weeks.
